Elegant French Country Styled Shoot

Living in the desert means certain details can be repetitive when you’re surrounded by cacti and mountains. That’s why we fell in love with our venue the first time we set eyes on it. It literally is an oasis in the middle of the Sonoran desert complete with a large pond, pecan trees, and acres of hay fields. We were thrilled when they agreed to partner with us and from there the vision started. Since we found this gem of a venue it only seemed right to match the countryside feel with a French Provincial theme of opulence and romance. Deep purples, lavender and pink hues were accented by glittering gold. What better way to escape to another place and time than through visuals that help one’s imagination. We had amazing chemistry from our real life engaged couple Kevin and Lara and their love, joy, and zest for life comes through in the photographs.

In keeping with a desire to avoid repetition the florist wanted to showcase beauty in a different form, through wearable flowers. She chose and custom designed a bronze necklace and bracelet with plumosa, light pink astilbe, English lavender, silver brunia, Ilse peach spray roses, purple astrantia, and light pink ranunculus. In lieu of a boutonnière she broke with tradition and made a floral bow tie using white trachelium, pink scabiosa, and English lavender. We decided on afternoon tea instead of a customary meal; all of us enjoying a moment to slow down and breathe in the beauty. Family heirloom china, touches of gold, and a posh centerpiece completed the look. Since Lara had broken tradition and proposed to Kevin, we were waiting half seriously and half in jest to see if she would again surprise him with an officiant to witness vows. But at the end of the day it was simply a sweet time together to take beautiful pictures and make memories in the setting of a romantic French countryside.
